Report: Boston could host the 2022 NBA All-Star Game

The word around this weekend in Los Angeles is that there's a strong possibly that Boston will host the NBA All-Star festivities come 2022.

According to a Yahoo Sports story by Chris Mannix, Boston, who has not hosted NBA All-Star weekend since 1964, has put in a bid and it more than likely will be granted soon enough.

The league has already announced that Charlotte will host the annual event in 2019, followed by Chicago in 2020 and Indianapolis in 2021.

Boston will have to compete with other cities who have never had the honor such as Memphis, Oklahoma City, Portland or even Sacramento of being the host of the NBA midseason break.

Waiting nearly 60 years like Boston has, is almost as close to a city that has never hosted an NBA All-Star weekend.

The city of Boston last hosted an All-Star game in any of the four major sports in 1999, when MLB played their midseason classic at Fenway Park.
